Regulations
Eligibility. Open to Elite riders and U23 (born 2007 or earlier). Riders over 45 may only participate if they hold a 2024 Elite category licence. Each club must enter a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 10 riders; clubs with fewer than 6 will be merged into combined teams.
Sign-on. All riders must sign the start register no later than 30 minutes before the race begins.
Kit. Riders must race in their club’s official kit. Helmets are mandatory.
Race numbers. The organisers will issue two body numbers, to be worn as instructed by the judges until the race finishes.
Governing rules. The race is conducted under the UCI National Rules and the Special Rules in this Technical Guide. The judges’ decision is final.
Railway crossings. Crossing a railway track while the gates are closed or the warning lights are on is strictly forbidden. Any rider who does so will be removed from the race.
Follow vehicles. No follow cars of any kind are permitted behind the race. Each club may use one support motorcycle (maximum height 1.66 m). Drinks are distributed by the organisers via the judges. Food and technical support must be collected by moving to the back of the bunch and raising a hand. In-race communication is via the official WhatsApp group — enter the correct entry number on the application form.
Protests. Within 30 minutes of the race finish, accompanied by a Rs. 1,000 fee, submitted by the club manager to the Chief Judge.
Feed zones. Food and drinks may be handed out after the first 30 km (near Sinigama Devalaya) and must end before the final 15 km (Katukurunda junction). Technical support is permitted within those zones. The final 1 / 3 / 5 km will be marked with banners.
Prize-giving. Within one hour of the race finish. All winners must attend in their club’s official kit.
Team classification. Points are awarded by overall finishing position: 1st place 10 points, 2nd 9, 3rd 8, … 10th 1 point. Every rider who finishes from 11th position onwards within the time limit scores 1 point. For each team, sum the points of its first 3 finishers — the team with the highest combined score wins the team classification.
