About the race
Men's open road race — 162.9 km on a lapped circuit: 1× 27.5 km big lap, then 2× 34.5 km medium laps and 8× 8.3 km short laps. Two intermediate feed zones. Best U23 classification with prize.
Regulations
All riders must compete in their club uniform.
Age cap: riders over 50 are not eligible to start (Men's race).
Two body numbers are issued per rider by the organisers. Both must be worn correctly for the entire race.
Technical assistance may only be received from the back of the peloton. Assistance while the race is in motion is not permitted.
Aero-bar riding position (hack-bar) is not permitted — using one is grounds for disqualification.
Only the rider names on the submitted entry form may start. No substitutions on race day.
All riders must sign the starting register at least 30 minutes before the race start.
If the leading team is caught by the 2nd or 3rd team (or an individual leader is caught by another rider), the jury may reclassify or remove the caught team / rider from the race. All riders and teams must accept the jury's decision. This is supervised by the jury.
One team-car per team is allowed. Team cars may only carry two spare wheels each.
A shared spare-wheel motorbike is provided by the organisers, marked with a number.
Support motorbikes are strictly prohibited from riding inside the race convoy.
Team cars are prohibited from riding in the race convoy — assistance is only permitted in the designated feed zones.
1st Feed Zone: Kurunda Junction to Rukaththana Junction
2nd Feed Zone: Dunagaha Junction to top of Galmukalana hill
Any protest must be submitted in writing to the chief judge within 30 minutes of the last rider finishing, together with a Rs 1,000 protest fee. The fee is refunded if the protest is upheld. The jury's decision is final.
The prize ceremony takes place within 1 hour of the last rider finishing. Riders collecting prizes must wear their cycling kit without any head covering.
Any amendment to this technical guide will be decided by the jury panel after discussion with the organisers.
